Girls Qualifiers for Secondary School Nationals found at Premierships

Westlake Girls beat Massey High in the first semi final and Rangitoto College got the better of Mt Albert Grammar in the second semi-final at Secondary School Premierships on Friday. All four teams qualify for Nationals.

Most interest centered around the battle for the final two qualifying spots between the losing quarter finalists. Auckland Girls Grammar overcame a valiant St Cuthberts and in something of a boil over, unheralded Orewa College defeated Avondale College.

Results:

Westlake Girls 87 (Tiarna Clarke 25, Akiene Reed 14, Bronwyn Kjestrup 13, Zara Jillings 12). Massey High 70 (Wuanyei Ah-Hing 18, Faustina Tuala 26).

Rangitoto College 65 (Penina Davidson 24, Olivia Berry 20, Ella Fotu 15). Mt Albert Grammar 53 (Idaho Purcell 15).

Orewa College 52 (Melissa MacDonald 14, Katie Diakhaby 17). Avondale College 49.

Auckland Girls Grammar 66 St Cuthberts 56.
