Nuggets end Rangers winning streak

Two games inside 24 hours and strong performances from two Oatgo veterans proved to be the undoing of the James Blond Super City Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

On Friday night the Rangers had secured their fourth win in five outings defeating the Manawatu Jets 100-94 in Palmerston North.The Rangers didn’t arrive back in Auckland until 2pm on Saturday and three hours later were facing the Otago Nuggets at Trusts Stadium. Continue reading

Recap of Super City Rangers performance against Saints

The James Blond Super City Rangers made a major change to their playing roster in the lead up to their Bartercard NBL double header last weekend. US import Eric Devendorf had not been able to shrug off a lingering back injury and was replaced by Australian guard Jason Cadee. Although he top scored with 20 points Cadee’s addition to the Rangers squad had little impact on Saturday as they slipped to a heavy defeat, 95-59 against the Waikato Pistons in a strange lack lustre performance. James Blond Super City Rangers too small for Giants.

The James Blond Super City Rangers entered their Easter weekend double header on the back of a 0-3 start to the 2014 Bartercard NBL season. The weekend’s games were not quite make or break for the Rangers in terms of making the end of season play-offs but two further losses would seriously dent their chances. Continue reading

Waikato Pistons Defeat Super City Rangers

The Waikato Pistons, defeated the James Blond Super City Rangers, 85-75 in the opening game of their 2014 Bartercard NBL season.

The Rangers, without the services of star recruits Dillon Boucher (injured) and Daryl Corletto (overseas), made a strong start to the game keeping pace with the Pistons to trail 18-17 at quarter time. Continue reading
