The U18 New Zealand Women ran into ‘The Wall’ called fatigue on the final day of the Australian State championships in Canberra.

The Women faced New South Wales Country in the play-off for seventh an eighth places. The scores were only close in the first quarter, NSW had built a commanding 47-25 lead by half-time and the game was over as a contest. Continue reading

Fine Win for New Zealand U18 Men

The New Zealand Under 18 Women finished with a 3-3 record at the conclusion of pool play at the Australian State Championships. The NZ team went down 83-68 against South Australia Country in their final round robin game. After an even opening quarter the South Australian women took a firm grip of proceedings winning the second period 32-17, giving them a massive 49-32 advantage at half time. Continue reading

New Zealand U18’s record two wins on day two of Australian Champs

The New Zealand teams enjoyed a successful second day at the Australian State Championships in Canberra on Friday.

The Under 18 Women (2-0) backed up their first day victory with a solid 75-62 win against Western Australia Metro. The Kiwis raced out to a 22-13 first quarter advantage and were never headed thereafter. WA mounted a comeback to close within four points late in the third quarter but a 22-13 closing stanza sealed the win. Continue reading
