Lacey Lowdown partners with Northern Kāhu

The Lacey Lowdown is delighted to announce that the Northern Kāhu have agreed to support our growing coverage of Girls High School basketball for the remainder of the 2022 season.

Northern Kāhu will support the weekly roundups of the Auckland Premier and Senior A Girl’s games.

The Kāhu will be competing in the inaugural Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa season that commences at the end on June.

Kāhu Director Stephen Dil is convinced aligning with the Lacey Lowdown is perfect timing for the fledgling organisation.

“Mike has done a tremendous job over the years of giving profile to our game through the Lacey Lowdown.

“It is important to the Kāhu that the girls game continues to be reported on and our up and coming players are showcased.

Lowdown editor Mike Lacey believes that there is already great synergy between the Lowdown and Northern Kāhu.

“Three of the four player signings announced by the Kāhu began their playing careers at Auckland high schools. Ash Kelman-Poto played at Mt Albert Grammar School, Akiene-Tera Reed at Westlake Girls and Micaela Cocks at Takapuna Grammar School.

“More local players will be announced in the coming weeks which is extremely exciting.

“Northern Kāhu and Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa are creating a pathway many of our current high school players will aspire to follow.

We look forward to reporting on the next round of girl’s games coming up on Friday. In the meantime you can follow the Northern Kāhu here:
