Blair and Tini return to Harbour Breeze

The Harbour Breeze welcome back two US based players for the second WBC tournament being held in Auckland next weekend.

Brooke Blair and Jaycin Tini both graduated from Rangitoto College last year and have enjoyed successful freshman years at their respective junior colleges in the US.

Blair has had a stand out season at North Eastern Junior College, Sterling, Colorado where she started in 27 games. She led the Plainsmen’s scoring averaging 14.1 ppg and was honoured with selection for the regional conference team.

Tini, like Blair, led her team’s scoring averaging 16.6 points per game at Miles Community College, Montana. She also had the distinction of being the leading rebounder for the Pioneers averaging 8.5 boards per game. She too was selected for the regional conference team.

The tournament is being played at the Allan Brewster Centre in Papatoetoe, June 6-8. The Breeze made a strong showing in tournament one finishing with a 3-1 record and share the same record as Auckland Counties Manukau Lady Hawks, Ocean Gold Rush Otago, Canterbury Wildcats and Waikato Wizards. All five teams will fancy their chances of securing a top six play-off place.
