After three days of high quality basketball we now know the top six teams that will contest the play-off rounds of the 2015 Women’s Basketball Championship at Finals weekend in Porirua next month. Harbour Breeze, Waikato Wizards and Auckland Counties Manukau Lady Hawks will join the three South Island teams, Probands Nelson Sparks, Oceana Gold Rush Otago and NZ Home Loans Canterbury Wildcats. Women’s Basketball Championship Day 1
The team registering the biggest gain on the opening day of Tournament 2 of the 2015 Women’s Basketball Championships in Christchurch was Oceana Gold Rush Otago. Tournament one of the 2015 Women’s basketball Chamionsip gets underway on Friday at the Allan Brewster Leisure Centre, in Auckland. Thirty-two games are scheduled for the weekend as the twelve teams strive for a place amongst the top six sides that will contest the national title at the business end of the season in Poirua, early June. Steve Adams continued his strong form for Oklahoma City Thunder as he helped OKC to a road win against Phoenix Suns, 109-97 on Monday (NZ time). Adams played a career high 42 minutes as he amassed 13 points and whopping 16 rebounds. The Kiwi shot 6/9 from the field as the Thunder improved to 42-32, the win their 7th in the last 10 outings.
