Early foul trouble hinders Fotu

Three early fouls from Isaac Fotu severely limited the Kiwi forward’s court time as La Bruixa d’Or Manresa were defeated 82-63 by Fiat Joventut in the Spanish League.

Fotu, coming off the bench, played just 17 minutes but did in that time lead Manresa’s rebounding count with 6 boards. In addition he compiled 7 points (3/6FG) and an assist. Manresa now has an 8-19 record remaining 16th on the Liga Endesa table.

Possibly inspired by his former college Wisconsin reaching the NCAA Championship Final, Kirk Penney helped Sevilla to a convincing 86-60 victory over Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro in Spain.

Penney played 127 games for Wisconsin between 1999 – 2003 and on Sunday he led the Sevilla scoring with 15 points that included 4 from 7 three’s. Sevilla improve to 8-19, the same record as Manresa, but remain 17th, one from bottom on the Spanish League table

The Oklahoma City Thunder had a bad Easter weekend slipping to defeats at Memphis Grizzlies 100-92 and at home against the Houston Rockets 115-112. Steven Adams fouled out in 14:28 against the Rockets leaving the floor with 6 points and 4 rebounds.

In Memphis, Adams was a little more productive, producing 9 points and 6 rebounds against the Pelicans

On Sunday Corey Webster played his second game for Mega Leks in the Serbian League. Again he played over 20 minutes, contributing 7 points, as Leks were defeated 82-68 by perennial powerhouse Partizan Belgrade. Webster is yet to find his three-point rhythm shooting 0/3 from beyond the arc.

In France Errin Rooney threatened a triple double but couldn’t prevent Arras slipping to their eighth straight defeat, this time at home to Angers 87-75.

The Cantabrian point guard was terrific, producing 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists as she played all but two minutes of the gameArras finished 7th at the end of the regular season and now face 6th placed Tarbes home and away in a 5-8 placing play-off game. On current form you wouldn’t it is difficult to see Arras progressing.
