Cedric Jackson had a triple double of 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists as the Sky City breakers defeated Melbourne United at Vector Arena on Sunday.
A couple of points below underline what an exceptional individual effort this was.
Firstly, it is only the second occasion this has been achieved by a Breakers player in the 373 NBL games played by the club. The other occasion was by Jackson himself when he recorded 28 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, also against Melbourne, in November 2012.
Secondly Jackson is the only player to have registered two triple doubles in the NBL in the last nine years. The last player to do this was Darnell Mee back in December 2005 when playing for the Cairns Taipans. (courtesy of @NBLfacts).
Not a bad effort when you add in the fact that Jackson only committed one turnover, snared 3 steals and registered 2 blocks. Nit picking but I swear one of those blocks belonged to Reuben Te Rangi.
