Mexicali Fresh Summer Jam returns

Following the success of last year’s competition the second Summer Jam will be commencing soon, albeit with a couple of significant changes.

Unfortunately due to the forced closure of Youthtown the venue for the 2015 competition will be Auckland University Sports Centre.

Administered by Auckland Basketball Services Limited and sponsored once again by Mexicali Fresh there is a slight change to the make-up of the teams this year.

The New Zealand Breakers Academy will be entering a team, the other three teams made up of 39 drafted players. Once again current or former Tall Blacks Hayden Allen, Casey Frank and Lindsay Tait will each be at the helm of a team.

Last year international calibre players Jarrod Kenny, Jack Salt, Paul Henare and Dillon Boucher were amongst those drafted. Salt has departed to further his career at the University of Virginia but there will be no shortage of young NBL players putting their names forward. Expect the likes of Ana Haku, Nick Barrow, Shea Ili, and Patrich Bolstad  to feature when the competition tips off on October 21.
