Mika Vukona and his team Byblos are staring down the barrel of elimination from the Lebanese National Basketball League play-offs.
Despite a double double, 12points/11 rebounds from Vukona, Byblos lost 68-55 to Al Riyadi in game two of their best of five semi-final series.
To make matters worse the defeat was in front of their own fans. Byblos made a reasonable start to the game establishing a slight 19-17 advantage at quarter time. This lead was eradicated in the middle stages of the encounter but Byblos entered the final quarter just four points adrift, 48-44. However, in the fourth period Byblos could find little offensive traction and lost the quarter 20-11.
Byblos now face the almost impossible task of beating the number one ranked Al Riyadi in three straight games, two of them on Al Riyadi’s home court.
