Trivia Tuesday

Gary Wilkinson, who is poised to become the 9th Breaker to score 1300 points for the club, posted a career high 33 points against Sydney Kings on Saturday taking his season tally to 246 points and his career total to 1299.

Wilkinson made a sluggish start to the season. Arriving a month into the campaign as a replacement for Darnell Lazare, Wilkinson was in reasonable condition but certainly not in game shape.

The 31 year old from Utah produced only two double-digit scoring games in his first six outings. However, since the Breakers Xmas break he has averaged 20.7 points a game in seven fixtures as well as securing 6 rebounds per game.

Despite the aforementioned slow start his season output currently sits at 15.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. These figures compare very favourably with the vintage form he displayed in the championship winning 2011-12 season. Back then he averaged 16.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

‘Big Red’ is firing but will this be enough to propel the Breakers into the play-offs?
