Tom Abercrombie became just the fifth player to chalk up 100 victories in a Sky City Breakers uniform in the victory over the Wollongong Hawks in round 4 of the NBL. Coincidently, it has taken him 142 appearances to reach this milestone – the exact number of games as CJ Bruton.
If in the future a Breakers Hall of Fame is ever established surely all five centurions would be inducted.
The up to date list reads (wins/appearances/winning %):
131 – 220 – 59.5% Dillon Boucher
121 – 213 – 56.5% Mika Vukona
110 – 250 – 45.2% – Paul Henare
111 – 157 – 70.7% CJ Bruton
100 – 142 – 70.4% Tom Abercrombie
Boucher, Vukona and Henare in particular had to endure some lean pickings in the Breakers formative years hence their winning percentages are lower than Bruton and Abercrombie.
Henare played the first four seasons for the club without missing a game, tasting victory on just 41 occasions in 130 appearances. That accomplishment of playing 130 consecutive games is still a club record that Henare shares with Aaron Olson.
Number of games played to register 100th win/ opposition and date.
232 Henare, v Adelaide 36ers, 20th January, 2011.
194 Boucher, second semi-final v Townsville Crocodiles, 5th April 2012
186 Vukona, v Melbourne Tigers, on November 30th, 2012, the night Cedric Jackson recorded the club’s only triple double
142 Bruton, overtime victory in Sydney earlier this year, 9th February, 2013
