North Harbour secured top spot in Men’s pool 1, In the early game on day 3 but in order to do so they had to overcome a very committed Canterbury team. The scores were tied 45-45 at three quarter time, Harbour eventually edging a tight opne 62-56.
Counties were down by twenty points early in the final quarter against Rrotorua but despite a spirited fight back were still beaten – surprisingly 69-62. Despite the loss they edge out Canterbury, both teams having two losses, on count back.
Harbour Women ensured a top two placing in the Womens competition by beating Capital 69-62. Their final pool game against the other unbeaten team, Waikato will determine top seeding.
